This is the second of a six part series to show the mechanics of a Red Raid. The first bosses you encounter are Lady Hellfire and Lord Brimstone.
Marvel Heroes Red Raid is the harder difficulty raid of the two raids that are currently available as end game content for level 60 Heroes. The primary purpose behind this raid is to collect Hearts of Demonfire which are used to purchase recipe’s and tokens from the Raid Vendor (Hogun located in the SE part of the map) in Odins Palace (Chapter 9). Although these raids also drop uniques, it is assumed that you have a full set of uniques with challenge bonuses already. The only other reasons to do the raids would be to get the Surtur Rune that is used in crafting recipes and get Costume Cores that drop from the bosses.
Marvel Heroes – Red Raid – Lady Hellfire & Lord Brimstone
There is a death penalty in here and if the raid suffers 30 deaths collectively then it is a fail and you have to start over. Lady Hellfire is to the right of the map and Lord Brimstone is to the left. The raid members split into two groups of five and start on one or the other bosses. During the entire fight you will have to switch from one boss to the other. When you switch you move in a clockwise direction through the map. The reason for this movement is that there are trash mobs at the top and bottom that will drop a buff, the top mobs drop a buff that is the letter “B” that you must have to fight Lady Hellfire effectively, the bottom mobs drop a buff that is the letter “H’ that you must have to fight Lord Brimstone effectively.
When you first start the fight no one will have these buffs. The parties of 5 should have at least one Hero with an empower ultimate if possible and after the first switch everyone does their ultimate attack. The only time someone doesn’t is if you have more than 2 Heroes with an empower ability on ultimate attack, then the leader should organize those to ultimate to take advantage of the empower provided by having them used in succession.
The Green Circle debuff. When you get a green circle debuff on you it means that a meteor is incoming and will one shot you. The only thing that will help is having all 5 people in the group stack on you to mitigate the damage. When you get a green circle stack on to the boss always then if you are ranged get out after the meteor lands.
The Red Circle debuff. When you get the red circle debuff the mechanic is the opposite of the green circle. You must get away from all party members close to you, if it hits when anyone is close it will do more damage to everyone when the meteor lands.
There are fire grates located throughout the map. The fire coming up out of these grates will do one of two things. They will either kill you outright or place a green or red circle on you, if its green and no one is close enough to stack on you then you will die. Just don’t go through grates with fire coming up.
His attacks consist of an aoe surrounding him and its easy enough to avoid and a punch towards whoever is in front of him. Keep him away from the grates while fighting and it should be fine.
Same thing with the grates. She has a ranged attack to look out for if you are the furthest away from her. It is a homing fireball that you can dodge. Look for her to raise one arm and fire then just before it hits you go ahead and dash 90 degrees from it. That attack will hurt and can kill.
If you can manage to avoid dying then it should be smooth. Here’s is an in depth walk through on MH forums.
